Brazilian Oil Find Might End US Nightmare

Brazil has made a huge discovery of oil and if the initial estimates on quantity hold true, the US might finally be able to reduce or eliminate dependence on oil from the Middle East. The find, some 8 billion barrels would be one of the largest and pales in comparison to another discovery in the region that could yield 33 billion barrels. There is no indication as to how long it would take to start pumping the oil but there are estimates that by 2020 several million barrels a day could be flow

Seahorses were once extinct in the Thames, or nearly so. Now they've come back and they may even be thriving (along with 100 or so more species of pisceans). More here, plus a nice video...

Congratulations go out to Mavado, who has been written up in Rolling Stone Magazine in an article on The 125-Plus People, Places and Things Ruling the Rock & Roll Universe. Mavado is mentioned under the caption “Best New Reggae”. I agree that Mavado is one of the hottest artyistes in Dancehall right now, but I just wish he would back away from all the gun lyrics and glamorising of violence. Months ago while sitting in a restaurant next to two gentleman having a conversation about Al Gore and how great he was this and that I asked a very simple question that led to rage. Now keep in mind I had spoken with one of these people earlier in the evening. That person is friendly with a waiter we know.
